Members of the Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment (CIA) team at Pine Tree ISD have been invited to present at the STEMCON conference in Chicago on April 20. Presenters are Robin White, (lead presenter), Dr. Daya Hill, Michele Walker, Dr. Lisa Mullins, Kalli Vanmeter and Kelli Hendrix.
STEMCON is a national conference for administrators and educators from around the nation that come together and share best practices in STEM. The district was selected because of our passion for inspiring girls to become more involved in STEM related careers.
The conference presentation will be the district's Girls in Technology event.
The goal for the presentation will be to create passion in other schools around the nation to begin a GIT event of their own. It is so exciting to know that PTISD will have to opportunity to indirectly change the number of girls that participate in STEM around the nation, said Robin White, lead presenter.
During the presentation, the team will share with participants the steps and information necessary to host their own event. Each participant will leave with a packet that includes technology stations, lesson plans, parent notifications, invitations and a timeline for planning.
