**Report written by Lt. Gov. Candidate, Mike Collier, Exposes Why Texas Faces a Property Tax and School Funding Crisis**
Austin, TX -- TODAY, February 8th, Democrat Lt. Governor candidate, Mike Collier, released a first-of-its-kind report detailing how, despite increasing property taxes being paid by homeowners, Texas’ public school systems are being failed by the Texas Legislature and the Lt. Governor’s Office. A pdf of the report can be viewed online or downloaded here. Thursday, Collier held a press conference that was streamed on facebook live which can be viewed at Facebook.com/CollierforTexas.

Quotes from Collier’s remarks included the following:
“What I’ve found is startling. Texans’ property taxes are going up - while funding from the state for public education is going down. Parents should not blame their local school boards for their ever increasing tax burden. This situation can be directly attributed to the Texas State Legislature, led by our current Lt. Governor.”
