PINE TREE COACH EARNS CERTIFICATIONS

Cody Ellis, Strength and Conditioning Director for Pine Tree ISD, has earned his certification through USAW as a Sports Performance Coach.  He is also earned his Safe Sport Certification and has completed the USADA 2018 Coach's Advantage Program.
 
Both the USA Weightlifting and Safe Sport Certification are required to train Olympic athletes as a Sports Performance Coach.  Ellis is one of only 47 certified in the state of Texas.  
 
Coach Ellis is in his 12th year coaching at the high school and collegiate level.  He holds a Master of Education in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at Tyler.
 
He played baseball at Tyler Junior College and the University of Arkansas at Monticello.  He returned to coach at Tyler Junior College after graduation from UAM and won a National Championship in 2007 as an assistant coach.  
 
Ellis has been a Strength & Conditioning Director at Henderson ISD, Brownsboro ISD, and Frankston ISD.
