On Sept. 24, Matthew Nonnenmann, assistant professor of Occupational Health Sciences at UT Tyler Health Science Center will present a discussion on Occupational and Environmental Health.”
On Oct. 1, LETU electrical engineering professor Marian Iordache will present his research on “Programs to Write Programs.”
On Oct. 15, Baylor University physics professor Gerald Bryan Cleaver will present his research on “M-Theory and the Multiverse 101.”
On Oct. 22, LETU biology students Megan Ross and Jon Bissette will present their research on “From Microbes to Biodiesel: Saving the World through Biochemistry.”
On Oct. 29, UT Tyler biology professor James Koukl will discuss “Radio Telemetry Studies on Resident and Relocated Adult, Hatchling, and Juvenile Three-toed Box Turtles (Terrapene carolilna triungius) & Assessing the Commercial Harvesting of Freshwater Aquatic Turtles in Texas.”
On Nov. 5, LETU students will present their work with the LEGS program as it has been deployed overseas in developing countries to provide amputees with low-cost prosthetics.
On Nov. 12, ETBU professor of biology Troy Levine will discuss “Teaching of Evolution and the Nature of Science.”
On Nov. 19, Carolyn Gatti, who handles graduate school admissions at Northwestern State University, will discuss the steps for applying to a graduate school. (This event will be at 6 p.m.)
n Dec. 3, LETU students David Kuntz and Benjamin Penticoff will present “Saving the world through nanoscience: applying gold nanoshells on metal oxide nanowires to create better optical receivers and chemical sensors.
