LETU business professors to present at IACBE Conference in Dallas

LONGVIEW — LeTourneau University professors will present their scholarly research at the Fall 2009 IACBE (International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education) South Central Regional Conference in Dallas Nov. 16 and 17.

The IACBE is the premier professional accreditor for business programs in student-centered colleges and universities throughout the world.

Faculty presenting at the conference include Dr. Scott Ray, LETU assistant professor of management, who with LETU MBA alumnus Brant Cordeiro will present “Business Strategy Game: Online Simulation Game as an Application Tool.” Dr. Beverly Rowe, associate professor of accounting, will present “Does the Balance Sheet Balance? Potential Impact of the FASB Financial Statement.” Dr. Bob Driver, professor of finance & business, and Dr. Warren Matthews, professor of economics, will co-present “Ethical Lapses that Contributed to the Financial Crisis.” LETU MBA alumnus Wendel Weaver is leading the marketing roundtable discussion on best practices.

Dr. Ken Fairweather, LETU associate professor of marketing and marketing program director is the president of the IACBE South Central Region and has coordinated the Dallas conference. He has been the IACBE Regional President for the past four years. During his leadership, the conference attendance has grown fourfold. The regional conference includes 12 universities in a five-state area. He plans to involve students and provide them an opportunity to present scholarly works in the future.
