The training is provided free through a grant from Texas Mutual Insurance, but pre-registration is required for enrollment in the courses.
The 10-hour “OSHA for General Industry” course will be offered two times during April. On April 5-6, the class was taught in Spanish.
On April 15-16, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., it will be conducted in English. Both courses provide students with a 10-hour OSHA training card and a copy of “1910 OSHA Standards for General Industry.”
“Drug and Alcohol Awareness for Supervisors” will be offered as an eight-hour course on April 7, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“OSHA Standards Basic Safety” will be taught in eight hours on April 8, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The 30-Hour “OSHA for General Industry” will be taught in six sessions, April 12-15 and April 19-22, from 5 to 10 p.m.
The 30-Hour OSHA training card and a copy of “1910 OSHA Standards for General Industry” are provided free of charge to pre-registered students.
“Spanish for Safety Supervisors,” a 24-hour course, will be held each Thursday, April 15 through June 3, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
“Confined Space, Gas Detection, Meters,” an eight-hour course, will be taught on April 26-27, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
“Environmental Concepts for Industry,” an eight-hour course, will be offered April 28-29, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
