The Holiday Mini-Mester allows students to complete a full college credit course in just three weeks. Classes begin Dec. 22 and run through Jan. 9, with breaks for Christmas and New Year.
According to Melody Henry, NTCC Interim Dean of Enrollment Management, this is a great opportunity for students to get an extra class in over the holiday break.
“The mini-mester is a great option for our current students, as well as students who might attend a university elsewhere who are home for the holidays. These classes are convenient and very affordable,” Henry said.
This year a variety of courses are being offered in Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Political Science, History, Music, Physical Education, Office Technology and Speech. These classes meet on the main NTCC campus or are completed online.
Students may also register early for spring 2009 anytime during regular business hours through Friday, Dec. 19 in the administration building, at the Hanson-Sewell Center in Pittsburg, or at the Naples-Omaha Center in Naples.
Eligible students may register online at www.ntcc.edu/campusconnect at their convenience.
NTCC will be closed for the holidays Dec. 19 through Jan. 2. Regular registration for spring will be held Jan. 7 to 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Student Union Building on Wednesday and Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the administration building on Friday and Saturday.
“We highly encourage students to register early. Not only will you beat the long lines of registration, but you will also have a better chance at getting the classes you want,” Henry said.
NTCC offices are open Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon. For more information about registration, visit www.ntcc.edu or call 903-434-8100.
