Tryout set for July 23 at R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium in Kilgore

The Kilgore College football team will host one final summer tryout for any college-eligible athlete who would like to join the Rangers squad.

Registration for the combine is set for 11-11:30 a.m. Friday, July 23, at R. E. St. John Memorial Stadium in Kilgore. The tryout should last a couple hours, according to coaches.

Attendees must bring their own cleats, workout clothes, cleats and tennis shoes.

Cost of the tryout is $20 per person.

This workout will provide the opportunity to showcase athletic abilities to the Kilgore coaching staff and possibly earn a football scholarship or walk-on position.

"In the past, we've offered scholarships to players who have done well at these combines," said head coach J.J. Eckert. "We're looking for players at all positions."
