The purpose is to attract high school students and their parents from all over East Texas to learn about private, Christian universities throughout the nation. Some of the other colleges and universities joining LeTourneau University at the college fair are also members of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, including Abilene Christian University, Bethel University, Dallas Baptist University, ETBU, Hardin-Simmons University, Houston Baptist University, John Brown University, Moody Bible Institute, Oklahoma Baptist University, Ouachita Baptist University, and Westmont College.
Admission is free and financial aid workshops will be offered.
“Finding the time and money to visit each of these campuses might be a challenge for families so this is a great opportunity to visit with representatives from each college about their programs and campus community,” said James Townsend, director of admissions at LeTourneau University. “Having a foundation with a biblical worldview is important for students making critical life decisions in the years immediately after from high school. This event continues to be a highlight for high school and home school students planning to attend college."
Townsend also noted that LeTourneau University recently announced a new $5 million endowment that provides financial aid specifically for home-schooled students.
